Review of Allegro non troppo (1976) by Andrew M — 25 Oct 2007
My first encounter with Bruno Bozzetto. Unlike Disney's Fantasia, this is really grown up stuff. A philosophical and political parody of entire human existence. All his philosophy crystalizes in the Bolero.
The black and white interludes are also noteworthy. They have a storyline of their own when considered together. The ruler, the persecuted artist, his muse, the media as the narrator, the masses as the old ladies.
A must see.
