Review of Adrift in Manhattan (2007) by Stephen P — 01 Apr 2008
A hauntingly beautiful film, reminds me very much of a tyipicaly French film. A good attempt at Hollywood trying to use that French style.
French style came through in the editing, stunning cinematography and general pace. Also with the various problems present in themain characters lives.
The soundtrack and structure of the film (intertwining lives of apparant strangers) remind me of the work of Gonzalez Inarritu very much (Amores Perros and Babel in particular)...looking at the writer/director of this film, if his name is anything to go by, I'd be very suprised if he wasn't a huge fan of Inarritu.
Well done.
