Review of A Touch of Zen (1970) by Walter C — 17 Sep 2006
This is a hard movie for me to rate since at some points this movie is insanely good and at other points, it's kinda okay. There are some action scenes that take place at night where you can't actually see what's going on which was kinda annoying. Meanwhile the climax (last half hour of the movie) was jaw-dropping and breathtaking in it's beauty. When they call this 'Croutching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' before 'Croutching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' they mean it.
This movie is visually stunning which is always a plus in my book and the plot is very good although leisurely paced in some parts. I have a feeling if I ever watch this again I will probably like this a bit more but it's three hours long and I have to make time to watch three hour long movies.
