I honestly did not know a thing about Huey P. Newton before I saw this movie on PBS one night. I honestly thought Smith WAS Newton speaking to an audience. The next day I went to the library to check out Revolutionary Suicide! Now I read everything about Newton that I can get my hands on! Although I disagree with a lot of the things said in this movie, the more I research Newton, the more I understand the connections to this film.
