The low ratings of this misunderstood classic Japanese tale just show how myopic American critics are-if it doesn't fit their formula, they cannot comprehend it and and therefore cannot value it. It is a beautifully filmed tale with the richness of Kurosawa's RAN with better acting, effects, and musical score.
One of the best films I've seen this year.
