Review of 2:37 (2006) by Lee B — 15 Jan 2011
Thalluri has crafted a masterpiece in 2:37 (Two Thirty 7), his film is reminiscent of Gus Van Sant's extraordinary Elephant which both feature common themes. The sound design, editing, and the subtleness of this film is one of it's main strength.
It's a film that for it's 95 minute duration shows no sign of decreasing in quality. 2:37 is executed to perfection, and with that ambitious screenplay it's even more powerful. This is purely guess work.
You will never guess the conclusion. A tearful film full of pain, mystery, emotionally strong acting and the need for guidance. I really like it, a lot. A must see for all ages.
