Surreal and Beautifull. This is one of my favorite films ever made. It's so expressionistic that you rarely even have an idea where each scene is taking place, and it doesn't matter. This film is set in the subconsious of the viewer and it's characters are the fears desires that live there.
I think this film captures hopelessness and longing better than any other I've seen. It also has some of Christopher Doyle's best work as a cinematographer.
