Review of 10 Days in a Madhouse (2015) by Evanss B — 20 Nov 2015
10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE is a solidly-made film that is entertaining and satisfying, never playing it safe but transcending the audience into a screetchy, dark, cold Victorian world of injustice. It is a charm to watch reporter Nellie Bly happily work to fool people and doctors into committing her for life to lunacy.
The narrative is fancy and personal much like a diary. The true danger in the madhouse reaches it mighty potential with an end result of encouragement and catharsis. In the end, taking into account the genre drama/biopic, the film features some smart acting, storytelling and much-desired conversation of women's issues still relevant today.
