Director and screenwriter. The son of the famous journalist and tv host Maurizio Costanzo, graduated in Sociology of Communication at the University of Sapienza of Rome. After various experiences as a radio host, author of screenplays for tv series, RAI, and the production of some commercials, at the end of the '90s he went to New York, where he worked as operator and assistant director, and then devoted himself to the task of a documentary filmmaker. In 2001 he founded, together with Mario Gianani, the production house is up for Offside, which initially focused on the production of documentaries and programmes for television and later also to that of feature films including, in 2004, his first work, "Private". Received with success from the international critics, the film won several awards including the golden Leopard and the prize of the ecumenical jury at the Locarno Film Festival in 2004, and to him is true, in 2005, the silver Ribbon and the David of Donatello as best new director. In 2007, the Berlin film Festival with his second opera, "In memory of me". In 2009, acquired the rights to produce the film adaptation of the best-seller, winner of the Strega prize in 2008, "The solitude of prime numbers" by Paolo Giordano.
