Review of Wolf Creek 2 (2013) by Arthur V — 13 Jun 2014
An unfortunate disappointment following what I felt was a masterful first film. Where that one was a slow burn (almost to a fault) leading up to meeting the horrific-but-affable Mick Taylor, this one begins with a head and a cop car exploding.
That sets the tone for a breathless violence fest, with many more cars exploding or being ran off the road with one of mick's improvised vehicles. His performance is still creepy, though his barrage of dad jokes & seeming omniscience makes him feel like the Aussie Freddy Krueger by now.
There are some great scenes of true horror, but this film seems sadly...stupid compared to its original.
