Review of Whispers and Lies (2008) by Michael S — 24 Oct 2008
An interesting premise that reminded me of Shirley Jackson's short story, The Lottery, but ultimately, it would have been better as a 40 minute twilight zone episode than a 90 minute movie. I'm not sure if it was a matter of poor writing or that the story had to be stretched longer than it should have been, but it dragged along long after the loose ends should have been tied up and the ending was weak and unconvincing.
Melissa Joan Hart, Jagoda Janik and Susan Hogan all gave decent performances though, given what they had to work with.
