Review of We Live in Public (2009) by V H — 23 Oct 2009
The film's proviso of bringing to light a man no one has heard of but everyone has been influenced by holds strong. Josh Harris predated all our expectations of internet intrusion and our insistance on living (through the internet) in public; publishing photos, videos and opinions in a media that sells our likes and dislikes to the highest advertiser.
The man is also a hugely complicated figure, brilliantly shocased in his Orwellian 'pod-living' experiement Quiet, and makes for entertaining subject material that is very well explored by documentarian Ondi Timoner.
