This has got to be one of the best war film, no, historical films ever made. Epic, attention to detail, and a cast of hundred of thousands. You just don't get that anymore; these days you just press a button and cut and paste. Good characterisation: I can't imagine anyone else but Rod Steiger as Napoleon now, and Chritopher Plummer IS Wellington.

It is strangely beautiful too; the battlefield is like some oil painting with the smoke and colurs, and watching tens of thousands of men marching, or even just standing there at the start of the battle, is awe-inspiring. Best bit that always has the wow factor is the slow-motion charge of the Scots Grey with a requiem in the backgound, and then it speeds up and you hear the sounds of battle and the thousands of horses hooves in the charge.

Magnificent.
