Review of Victoria & Abdul (2017) by Claire O — 22 Oct 2017
A story that does not speak well for the British royal family or the household staff that worked in the Queen's residence at the time of Queen Victoria's last years. Very interesting historical perspective on the British colonial rule in India before the country was divided.
The movie portrays a friendship that grows between a very sad, ill monarch and a younger man that is chosen to present an Indian coin to the Queen. Watching this caring relationship grow, along with her health improving is heartwarming for the movie audience.
Great movie.
