Review of Vexille (2007) by William W — 11 Feb 2008

Incredible animation in this one. More textured than Appleseed though I thought the designs in that film were more interesting than in Vexille. Surprisingly straightforward story, again as compared to Appleseed.

The action is spread out but really exciting when it does happen. The robots were very cool (they don't get enough screentime, really) and the Jags were imaginative monsters, reminding me of the worms in Dune.

I know that Vexille is the name of one of the lead characters but I don't understand why the movie would be named after her. Well-worth a viewing for anime scifi fans.
