I believe Bale's performance is so believable it hurts. I just haven't seen acting so raw. There are times when he smiles in this film that I swear it's truly genuine. So the film begs you to ask the question, what would happen if actors truly played the roles they were meant to play? Wouldn't entertainment be more of an art?
