Review of V/H/S: Viral (2014) by Marischa B — 12 Jan 2015
I have been a fan of the VHS movies, they redeem what found-footage is made for. However, V/H/S: Viral is a downside to the franchise and that is why. Firstly, the major storyline is not clear, in the first VHS movie, it is a mob finding tapes, VHS2 it is investigators finding tapes, neat and tidy. But here, it is just not clear it makes it messy. There are two skits in specific that are really good, with a fun premise, but they are for the most of it dull, Dante the Great was really good, it could turn into a feature film.
However, even with the 20 give or take minute runtime, it feels slow and dull yet interesting and frightening. This threequal has more shakiness, it is obviously not action it is gimmick which very disappointing compared to its predecessors. Overall, you can easily skip this movie, it is a disappointment, watch the first two and skip the third. Hope this was informative.
