Review of Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (2012) by Chris P — 26 Dec 2012
Universal Soldier: Regeneration had some surprisingly good action scenes, especially the opening scene...but the film itself was a boring mess. Though still a low-rent action flick, Day of Reckoning delivers where you would hope.
There are a few truly awesome action scenes that help you forgive the ridiculous, convoluted plot and methed-out pacing. Worth seeing if you are an action junkie, just don't expect any big special effects or grandiose shoot outs.
The action here is all close quarters and mainly hand to hand. One of the true joys of Day of Reckoning was watching UFC's Andrei Arlovski's character carrying out his "missions", but Scott Adkins really put himself on the map with this film, at least for me.
