Roles were good.
I haven't seen the original umrao jaan with rekha in it so I can't compare the two and will not comment on that.
The performances were good. the actors were well suited for the role and for eachother. fantastic choregoraphy, clothes and cinematography. love the courtesan scenes and the various sultans.
