Review of Turtles Forever (2009) by Joey G — 27 Jan 2010
This is great movie for any fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It plays like a fun in-joke (the ending is a hoot) made by people who actually like the different iterations of the series. The action scenes were eye candy and there's a lot of humor relating to the differences of the '87 and '03 shows.
If I have to nit-pick (and I'm only doing this because I'm a fan) I didn't like how the '87 Turtles seemed to have the same personality. Also, they didn't get the original voice actors (especially Uncle Phil as Shredder), but their voices probably would have sounded differently after two decades.
And personally, I would have loved to hear the '87 TMNT theme. Seems like they could have put it in there, but what do I know about copyright? All in all though, any Turtle fan will find it cheesy, funny, and mostly satisfactory.
