Review of Thor: Tales of Asgard (2011) by Josh R — 18 May 2011
Overall, there just was nothing exciting or revelationary here. It's a pretty typical teen-rebelling-against-parental-authority-and-realizing-he-was-wrong-and the parent-realizing-he-was-too-harsh story.
Too often I was saying to myself--especially in the first third: 'Would a young Thor really act that way/do that?' Then there's the fact that the wife (who is actually the big Thor fan) pointed out several things pretty startlingly out of continuity and character--especially the 'good-hearted' Loki--clearly changed to add more typical grey to the legend. Boring.
