Review of The Wizard of Gore (1970) by Maria!? — 13 Jun 2008

If the producers of this movie wanted to make the most ridiculous badly acted, so unbelievably fake gorey movie, they succeeded. But despite how bad it is (and believe me, it is bad), it has a charm about it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but this groaner was very entertaining. You can't help but laugh throughout.

So many things are wrong with this movie...the horrible horrible acting and characters...the beyond bad gore. The editing, cinematography, and the fact that the cops are so beyond stupid....oh shame.

And yet, so much fun. And to be honest a very interesting premise. The illusion is not that the volunteers are being killed...the illusion is that they survived.
