Review of The Witch (2016) by Moriah F — 15 Feb 2017
The Witch was amazing. I mean, it was amazing. I said it in my review for Split, Anya Taylor-Joy is going down a great path in terms of her acting career because she is great in this movie. Actually, everyone in this movie is great.
Actually, the acting is flawless, especially from the child actors which surprised me. They all usually are horrible. The soundtrack is eerie and chilling and really get under your skin when there's something going on.
It adds to the creepiness of the situation. The dialogue is apparently taken right from the folktale that this movie is based on so the characters sound like real New Englanders. The witch in this movie is very scary and, even though I'm not proud of myself, made me jump.
The mystery of who the witch is and how the family turns on each other is very intense. I'm giving The Witch a 10/10.
