Review of The Wild Blue Yonder (2005) by Scott K — 23 Jul 2007
A very interesting idea - almost mockumentary in concept - that had a lot of potential for the first ten minutes or so. It's all downhill from there. Using archival space station footage Herzog weaves a convoluted tale of misanthropic aliens and their mis-adventures on Earth.
It's too funny to be taken seriously but played too seriously to be funny. As a result, it's almost an hour and a half of odd fake interviews intercut with overlong takes of capricious space footage.
