Review of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights (2009) by Liz R — 26 May 2010
This is a great film with one big caveat, it is definitely a fan film. It is such a interesting exploration of the white stripes, but you sort of need to know them first. The personalities, the musical dynamics, the play on brother-sister, eccentricities, none of it is real substance unless you already know.
I am a big fan, so it was a great film for me. I loved the little bits, like hearing Meg scream and the intimate moment at the end and the lack of post show partying that happens (zzzzz), great stuff. Maybe no post show party is just Whitehorse or Iqualit. Still, I loved it.
