Review of The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom (2014) by Bradlee C — 11 May 2015
Just awful, compared to the past couple of films to come out of China 'White Haired Witch' was muddled with clichéd dialogue, terrible character build and bad chemistry between leads... or anyone in the film.
F.Bingbing's Liian Nichang was vague and had no character optimization compared to Brigitte Lin's Bride with White Hair. A terribly casted role for Xiaoming Huang as a chivalrous 'Taoist' warrior, comes off as smoldering and quite douchey.
.. Didn't quite fit the bill here. Another star-studded wire-fu blockbuster to come out of an industry that made some incredible films in the past decade. Can we go back to story, symbolism and plot rather than wire-fu? Trends eh? Wishful thinking.
