Review of The Theatre Bizarre (2011) by D.a. B — 04 Nov 2011
This anthology film combines 6 short stories and one framing segment into a trip down the tropes of the Grand Guignol. Not quite like other anthology films, this picture tends to go the route of the more grotesque, dirty, gory, disgusting and sexy than most other films of it's type.
While the segments don't necessarily relate to each other, the framing segment starring Udo Kier is a brilliant way to bring them all together. You don't have to look too hard to find the messages in these shorts, but you might not be able to keep your eyes on the screen long enough to see them.
