For the performance of Anne Ramsey as the daughter, 3 stars, 3 dimensions. She first appears as nervous and mother whipped then morphs into a hero. Also a credible lesbian. Larson as Deb Logan also rips heartstrings as a woman trying to maintain her dignity while losing her soul.
Nothing in horror films actually scares me but there were a few shots of sepentine spiritual transference that were weirdly "accurate" in terms of "morphology" and kinda "ooooh grosssss cool".
