Review of The Sons of Katie Elder (1965) by Michael O — 15 Mar 2008
This is one of the best westerns that I have ever seen. There are three reasons for this; John Wayne is the star, the script is good, the acting is pretty good in the leading roles. The fight scenes were well done, and the suspence built up in the final 15 minutes is only equalled by the final scene of 3:10 to Yuma (the old version).
Not your typical John Wayne film.
