Review of The Seasoning House (2012) by Alain G — 08 Feb 2014
A tense, atmospheric thriller/horror film set against the background of war and ethnic cleansing in Serbia, The Seasoning House concerns a dilapidated apartment house where kidnapped girls are forcibly prostituted to soldiers.
Not for the squeamish, the film's scenes of rape and degradation are hard to watch, but one young woman will turn the tables on her oppressors. A rape-revenge film of a different variety, The Seasoning House is a relatively intelligent horror film that provides a visceral punch to the gut.
