Review of The Saint (2017) by Esha G — 09 Sep 2017
This movie had the feel of a TV movie from the 1970s. Practically the only thing interesting is a cameo by Roger Moore, who looks rather like a really bad Madame Tussaud's wax dummy. Eliza Dushku, looking rather anorexic, is the better actor in the Saint/Patricia Holm duo; Rayt Marius and John Henry Fernack prove only that the screenwriter(s) have read at least one Saint book by Leslie Charteris.
They've added a totally messed up backstory for the name Templar and brought the action forward into the 2010s, but it's not the Brighter Buccaneer I was hoping for. Adam Rayner gives a good impression of Wesley on the TV series "Angel"; his only saving grace is that he's better than Val Kilmer was.
OTOH, who wouldn't be?
