Review of The Promise (2016) by Loris D — 21 Apr 2017
This is a magnificent, beautifully filmed, and sensitive portrayal of the events leading to the horrific near extermination of the Armenian people by an ultra nationalistic Turkish movement under the umbrella of the 1st world war.
It truly articulates the all to familiar steps taken (later in the century toward the (European Jews) to degrade and humiliate an entire race. The acting is poignant and the cinematography is stunning.
It's a MUST SEE!
