Review of The Promise (2016) by Alex L — 21 Apr 2017
The world and particularly Americans seem to want to believe that genocide was confined to the Jewish Holocaust of WW II. That is wrong Genocide has occurred throughout recorded history and has been repeated many times up to the present day.
The early 20th century had one of the most horrific examples, The Armenian Genocide by the Turks. This movie tells a lot of the story, including recorded direct quotes from Dr. Nazim and Talaat Pasha.
The producers had to include the love story to make the atrocious behavior of the Turks palatable. It's a good movie; see it and learn.
