This is definitely in my personal movie collection- and a movie worth the time to watch and not just because I am originally from Defiance, Ohio. You will fall in love with Evelyn Ryan and grow to have a deep respect for the buffer she provided between the problems at home and her 10 children.
My favorite line in the movie is when she explains to her husband that she doesn't expect him to make her happy- just leave her alone when she is. A great look at the 1950's in a small town- and an extraordinary woman who made ends meet with her love of words! Watch it- you won't be sorry!
