I really enjoyed this, the best anime I've seen in a few years. It has that bittersweet nostalgia the Japanese are so good at. The lighting, color and animation are excellent. The story is weird but interesting and original.
It takes place in an alternate world where World War II ended more like the Korean War did. It's an interesting and heartfelt science fiction film. It slows in the middle some but I don't think you have to like anime to like this.
