Review of The Other Side of Heaven (2001) by Skye N — 20 Sep 2016

This is a sweet, thoughtful family film. That may not be popular for a lot of people, but the truth is, we need films like this today. We need more films that teach love and fewer that create divisiveness, more films filled with respect and fewer films filled with bloodshed.

Whether you agree with their faith or not, there is much to admire about any young man who gives up two years of his life to travel halfway around the world to do nothing more than serve others, and much to enjoy in a movie about the growth and learning that comes from that.

It's a shame people can't appreciate human kindness and sincere goodness in a movie. As for me and my house, we will choose the Other Side of Heaven!
