Review of The Ninth Configuration (1980) by Delia B — 17 Jun 2007
I was surprised when I read the original novel of The Ninth Configuration. I noticed that author William Peter Blatty had changed almost nothing in the film adaptation of his own book, which created a narratively unconventional but fascination film.
The story hearkens back to Flannery O'Connor, presenting the Christian answer to the problem of evil without proselytizing to the audience or dipping into sentimentality or melodrama. This one is not to be missed.
