Review of The Mummy's Curse (1944) by Brett B — 26 Sep 2012
Universal's attempt to keep a vague sense of continuity in this franchise is admirable, but it only ends up making the story more convoluted (and implausible!) than it needs to be. Chaney's fine as the mummy (though it's a role that requires literally no emoting from him whatsoever), and the moody camerawork is nice, but ultimately it's a purely by-the-numbers affair.
