Review of The Last Lear (2008) by Saad N — 19 Jan 2009
Just like an Amitav Ghosh or Jhumpa Lahiri novel, the sense of magical realism tapers to every end. The horrendous dialogue and acting makes it irritating to watch. Amitabh Bachchan does not need to shout out all those Shakespeare lines.
You can recite them calmly as well. But, my oh my, it could've been a such a great film. I still wait. Just don't make another with the same layered structure as this one.
