Can't give it a negative review as it was made with care and real effort. But the story has significant plot holes and inconsistencies that you don't want to think about too hard. Beyond the jump scares it's not terribly scary as much as it is depressing.
The timeline jumps don't do anything for the suspense. I'd hoped it would have been better as I enjoyed the grudge with Sarah Michele Gellar.
