Review of The Gorilla (1939) by Aj V — 18 May 2010
Bela Lugosi stars as a creepy butler in this old dark house horror/comedy featuring a mad monkey and a Three Stooges wanna-be trio (the Ritz Brothers). The scares are mostly light-hearted as the tale twists and turns while we learn of who the killer is and who the different folk that keep arriving throughout the night fit into the mystery.
Could have been better with the actual Three Stooges or even re-written for a duo like Abbott & Costello, but its still surely recommended for fans of those comedy groups and their ilk.
