Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Jason H — 03 Sep 2012
A staggering, impressive followup. Pacino owns the role of Michael, and De Niro is just as memorable as Brando in the role of Vito. Extremely engaging drama, in both of the stories being told here. Even knowing its reputation going in, I was blown away (so to speak) by this film.
It might just be an even finer achievement than the first installment. Perhaps the best sequel ever made, and one of the best-made American films as well.
