Review of The Fugitive (1993) by Andrew G — 25 Apr 2010
The Fugitive is highly regarded as a fantastic Thriller. Half way through the film, I realised that this was not just a great film, but one that I was enjoying in a way that few films have ever made me feel.
The thing with the Fugitive is that it isn't the stupid dumb chase film it could have been: it's smart and has a heart, but still delivers on the incredible thrills and action scenes. Harrison Ford is fantastic in this film, up there with his performances as Han Solo and Indiana Jones.
Tommy Lee Jones is incredible, and I love what they do with his character. He's not a villain, he's doing what he needs to do for his job, even if that makes him look like the bad guy. The story is interesting, the twists feel genuine and even though it's a marvelous film: it's still entertaining.
There are just two words keeping me from calling this the best film of 1993: Schindler's List.
