Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Kai P — 21 Jul 2007
I was almost literally shaking when I walked out of the theatre after seeing this film. McNamara stops just short of declaring himself a war criminal through his time as Secretary of Defense under Kennedy and Johnson and during his time as a war planner with the Air Force in World War II.
Just listen to his story about the firebombing of Tokyo that killed over 100,000 people (civilians) in a single night. Or his none-too-thinly-veiled parallel warning about Vietnam to Iraq. "If we can't persuade nations with comparable values of the merit of our cause we better re-examine our reason.
