Review of The Fifth Estate (2013) by Henry F — 15 Apr 2014
This film could have had a monumental impact on the world, sadly, it doesn't go to the top of the list. But, this film is still a fascinating drama into the secret world of Julian Assange and his organization known as WikiLeaks.
Benedict Cumberbatch ("Sherlock" series) and Daniel Bruhl ("Inglorious Basterds", "Rush") showcase great performances that give this one the extra strength it needs. At times it jumps around too much from one place to another, not allowing the viewer to fully grasp the fluidity of the scenes.
Yet, this is a very important and current issue in today's modern world and it deserves more recognition than it got. In the end, it falters at times, maybe more than is what's hoped for, but it's still a very entertaining suspense indie drama.
