Review of The Fear of 13 (2015) by Shawn R — 03 Dec 2016
David Sington did an excellent job with what he had. And what he had was a phony. Nick Yarris is cringe-worthy and reminds me of someone showing me a selection of counterfeit watches in a bus station. Innocent or not, I don't know how anyone bought what Nick was selling.
Bad form, I'm sure, to criticize this, but such fine filmmaking (clearly inspired by Errol Morris) shouldn't be wasted on someone who at least seems like a fraud.
