Review of The Dry Land (2010) by Russ M — 15 Nov 2010
*** (out of four).
A disturbing and well made look at the effects of war on a returning soldier from Iraq. The acting, especially from Ryan O'Nan is excellent and the images are hard to forget.
For its great things, it is hindered by a script that offers far too many cliches and seems to follow a play-by-play book on what a returning soldier goes through.
Luckily, the performances make it at least feel realistic and moving.
