Review of The Doom Generation (1995) by Long L — 08 Mar 2009
The more po-faced viewer may indeed declare this movie puerile nonsense and pretty much miss the whole point.
It's an entirely tongue-in-cheek, postmodern take on relationships and the classic themes of good v's evil. The film asks us not to suspend our disbelief - but question everything, because nothing in life is static and confined to one meaning.
Dark, twisted and sexy this engaging yet wholly surreal movie fully deserves its five stars for not conforming to the generic teen-movie stereotype.
