Review of The Devil Bat (1940) by Roy C — 16 Sep 2010
Fans of Bela Lugosi, and B-movies will probably enjoy this one, as I did- though not enough to give it higher than two stars.
This movie is more comical than scary, and even a person who is afraid of bats (me) isn't going to be scared by the rubber bat this movie has- even if it is the size of a basketball. The acting is pretty cliche as well, with little in the way of character development... but that's to be expected when you watch a film made by a studio that used to fall be called one of the "Poverty Row Studios" for it's low budget and quick filming time.
However, if you want to have a laugh with friends, this is a good film to watch over beers and good company.
