Review of The Crater Lake Monster (1977) by Justin L — 18 Jun 2011
Dave Allen's stop motion effects work is the only real reason to watch this B-movie. Co-writer and star Richard Cardella is the only one with any acting chops...and he's not that good. The mood changes from menacing to "Three Stooges" seemingly at random and the musical score sounds like it was lifted from another movie.
(In fact, I think it was.) Still, I've seen worse and despite its faults, The Crater Lake Monster manages to be a dopey good time.
